Getting Started with NativeFlow

1

Get Your API Key

NativeFlow uses your own Google Gemini API key (BYOK model). This means you only pay for what you use.

  1. Go to Google AI Studio
  2. Create an account or sign in with Google
  3. Click "Create API Key"
  4. Copy the key (starts with AIza...)

💡 Cost: Gemini API is very affordable. Most app generations cost less than $0.01.

2

Set Up NativeFlow

  1. Go to the Builder
  2. Click the ⚙️ Settings button in the header
  3. Paste your Gemini API key
  4. Click Save

Your API key is stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.

3

Create Your First App

Type a natural language description of your app. Be as specific as you want:

  • "Build a todo app with dark mode"
  • "Create a notes app where I can add and delete notes"
  • "Make a simple calculator with a clean, modern design"
  • "Build a weather app that shows forecast for my city"

The AI will generate complete React Native code using Expo and Tailwind styling.

4

Preview Your App

Web Preview: See your app instantly in the browser, rendered in a phone frame.

Mobile Preview: Scan the QR code with Expo Go app to preview on your real device.

  1. Download Expo Go on your phone
  2. Switch to the iOS or Android tab in NativeFlow
  3. Scan the QR code
  4. Your app loads on your phone!
5

Export to GitHub

  1. Click the Export button
  2. Connect your GitHub account
  3. Choose a repository name
  4. Click "Export to GitHub"
  5. Your code is now on GitHub!

The exported repo includes all configuration for building with EAS.

6
